Virgo Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse-Resetting Routines

First Eclipse of the 2025 calendar

Eclipses are always fated times of endings and beginnings, a karmic clearing that serves to propel us towards a new and improved timeline. This first Eclipse of the year in the Earth sign of Virgo last occurred in 2008. How has your perception of healtiness and service to others changed since then? In the sign of the sixth house ruler, we may now find ourselves revising routines, eliminating unhealthy habits, and working to re-organize our lives. Contrary to its rigid reputation, Virgo is a mutable sign, meaning it is highly capable of adaptability and change. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and, therefore, this lunation. Consequently, Mercury begins its first of three retrogrades this year the day after this Full Moon Eclipse, ready to retrieve the details pertinent for improving our future path. Mutable signs are interdependent with Cardinal signs, so with Mercury stationing retrograde in the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries on the 15th, there is an intense focus on self-improvement with this Eclipse. A theme echoed by the planet of our ego identity, Mars, square to Chiron (our wounded healer) in Aries during this lunation. What are we realizing we must move away from? What do we now sense we are ready to move towards?

The underbelly of the mental, physical, and emotional processes within us are being highlighted. There is currently an intensified focus on what is not working, broken, or no longer feels healthy. Virgo rules the lower G.I. (digestive) tract. Literally, this is about what to retain and what to eliminate. We are being astronomically assisted with an opportunity to make the necessary and long overdue shifts to clear these "blockages." A total physiological overhaul is the key signature of the Virgo Full Moon Eclipse. New ways to support the body may come in the aftermath of this Full Moon as the Virgo ruler, Mercury, prepares to re-examine our driven desires and what inspires them. Over the next six weeks, new ways to support our overall health may come to light. Have eyes to see and ears to hear what the body is telling us. Starting now, connecting with nature or the natural processes of purging via meditation, journaling, yoga (outside), herbal remedies, or just simply taking a walk may provide stellar benefits during this highly charged time of renewal. This is NOT about becoming a health guru. The Eclipse provides an awareness of the imperfections that no longer support a healthy lifestyle while simultaneously releasing any attachment to perfection in our routines. We didn't get this way overnight, and just like Eclipse energies, this is a process. A serious one that is being spurred on with Saturn in Virgo's opposite sign of Pisces. This is the first Eclipse since the lunar nodes moved into the signs of Virgo and Pisces on January 11th; the axis of fact and faith. With Saturn, the Lord of Karma, moving closer to Neptune in the final degrees of Pisces, we are urged to address the cycles that must end. A dissolution of former habits and routines can be replaced with new inspiring versions of how we live our life in our day-to-day doings. The south node in Virgo is asking us to resend any lower vibration sign archetypes such as judgment of self and others, over analyzing, and the need to control a timeline. The north node in Pisces is calling us to surrender to the unseen. To trust the spiritual process that is unfolding and designed to fuel our imaginations regarding what we dream life could be like. At its highest vibration, Virgo is the proverbial healer, the medicine man, this seer. We can allow this precise medicine to permeate our consciousness at this time while being infused with the divine inspiration supplied by the Pisces stellium of supportive planets.

With the beneficial healing energies of Virgo being revised by its ruler, mental Mercury, a letting go of long-standing beliefs that are just simply no longer true is a stellar first step at creating systems that support a new way of life that we are envisioning. Venus is already retrograde in Aries, and Mercury's first of three upcoming retrogrades will soon commence, encouraging us to consider new solutions to living that will provide long-term value. Pisces, the opposite sign of Virgo, is supplying self-compassion and spiritual support in our forthcoming endeavors of healing. Empathy for ourselves and others is integral at this phase of the new game we call reality. Lean into the plethora of planets in the dreamy sign of Pisces. Embrace the compassion without judgment, balanced by a practical understanding of all that no longer serves. Trust in the process that leads to love and healing, the true spiritual path. As we focus on our own health, we become more equipped to be empathetic to others in their healing journey without all the judgment! How do we digest the information moving through the collective now? Discernment starts with being honest with ourselves about how we approach service to others and if that is really working. Time to upgrade the Spiritual practices!

During this Full Moon Eclipse, the lunar nodes are forming a square to Jupiter in Gemini, the sign also ruled by Mercury. There is great truth to be found in the magnificent message of Jupiter. The paradoxical reality of our interconnectedness is revealing a need for expansion. Jupiter magnifies the ability of this new understanding and future execution. There is great power in words, and with the gas giant Jupiter in the sign of communication, our thoughts are being refined. Jupiter always brings a blessing. Even though there is a huge emphasis on the self during this Eclipse, the nodes connecting with Jupiter send a strong story of a new tribe that is forming. Like-minded souls are showing up on the timeline now. The more we can release an outdated mindset regarding connection, the greater the space is for those that are truly meant for us can be provided. We can embrace a new communication style, a new idealism, and perhaps even a new love language under the influence of energies at this time. What are we willing to learn through the lens of others? We can allow ourselves to merge with the divine inspiration and intelligence within us. Our true physical and spiritual essence is being defined and reintegrated.
