As the New Moon perfects in the early degrees of the Fixed Earth sign on the 27th, we are in a place of anxious resolve, ready to get to the other side of the Mars/Pluto oppositions. The third and final opposition of the ancient and modern rulers of Scorpio becomes exact just hours before the lunation in the axis of Leo and Aquarius, the self and the collective. This potent opposition creates a T-square to the New Moon and Sun. This is the final punch and a final push from the Universe that began six months ago. The steady, grounded nature of Taurus is being infused with very Scorpionic themes, which will culminate on the Full Moon in the sign opposite Taurus on May 12th. This long phase of pattern disruption is coming to an end. What act of sacred defiance can now liberate us enough to harness the personal power required to move beyond the fears that fuel our repression? What toxic attachments to a lesser version of value are ready to die? It is time we break the patterns that have kept our Soul small. Taurus archetypal energy knows that the most valuable resources are found in slowing our pace, at the still center of self-worth, which leads to self-sustainability. We are intent on learning the karmic lessons of the past and stabilizing our ability to head into new territory. The Moon in Taurus and the lunation ruler, Venus in Pisces, are both in their signs of exaltation, meaning we are stellarly supported in navigating the challenges!
With Venus being the dispositor of the Taurus New Moon, there is a background influence of completion as Venus is currently conjunct the Lunar North Node and Saturn in the final sign of Pisces. This marks the third conjunction of Lady Luck and the Lord of Karma due to her recent retrograde as she prepares to integrate the lessons of the past and ingress into Aries on the 30th, initiating new themes of self-worth. An aspect of discomfort is asking us to dissolve a past timeline. To set ourselves free from the former restrictions and initiate a renewed sense of self-empowerment. She will immediately conjoin Neptune at the Aries 0 degree point upon entry into the Cardinal Fire sign. What new vision holds value? What are the desires in areas of love and money now that we have had ample time to realize the lessons of core values and set them into motion? What have we realized about boundaries, standards, and self-love as a result of the Venus retrograde phase (with Mercury) through the illusory subconscious depths of the Pisces realm? At this point, we should no longer be giving away our power or compromising self-worth for the sake of ANY relationship. Venus now moves with an energy of attraction rather than promotion.
A deeper dive into the stark, dark forces influencing this New Moon asks us to also strongly consider a tense, Fixed T-square that began on 4/13 and will last through 5/13, right after the Scorpio Full Moon. Mars in Leo, opposing Pluto in Aquarius, are both square to Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio. These are all Fixed signs, and the early degrees of these signs are feeling it the strongest, but trust, we are ALL feeling it! As Mercury, followed by the Sun and Moon, move through Taurus in this period, they create a Fixed Grand Cross to the already existing T-square. An aspect that is activated by both of our luminaries on the New Moon. We are all being asked to move the immovable forces at play. A karmic process that affects us mentally, spiritually, and emotionally; a necessary evolution of the Soul that cannot be bypassed. In this tense master configuration, Lilith in deep Scorpio triggers all of the fears, a feeling of not being acknowledged, and can cause us to project our sense of powerlessness onto others. Mars, our ego identity, seeks sovereign power in Leo, and this driven Fire can cause frustration when we don't know how to control our own energy. When improperly held inward, this can erupt in outward anger that is the groundwork for going to war, fueled by the battles we fight within ourselves. This Fixed Grand Cross is a difficult yet potent path to self-mastery, and the planet Pluto can transform us beyond the deeper truths that cause us to give our power away by enabling us to face what we have been avoiding. These can all move us beyond the narrative that kept us inauthentic. Do we now recognize our own pain with the kind of clarity and awareness that can help us catalyze the available growth? These themes of security, safety, self-power, and self-trust serve to ground us into the reality of who we truly are and all that we are exponentially capable of becoming. Set those New Moon intentions around internal harmony, specifically to support the strongest version of yourself that is ready to emerge!
