August: Ready to Roar

The heat of Leo Season sparks intensity in August. We will feel this particularly due to the Jupiter/Saturn square, one of the most prolific transits of the year. Think back to December of 2020 when Jupiter and Saturn initiated their 20-year dance in a new (Air) element as they crossed over 0° of Aquarius conjoined. These two giants will perfect their square on August 19th at 17°, with Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn retrograde in Pisces. The push and pull; the expansion and the contraction, will be focused in the houses 17° of these signs occupy in our charts. The first square aspect after their conjunction in 2020 indicates a crisis in action. A square always requires reconciliation. What is the next move?

With responsible Saturn retrograde in the Divinely inspired sign of Pisces, we are being asked to look at the work required to see our dreams come to fruition. Midmonth, Venus in Virgo will create a T-square to Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter/Mars in Gemini, asking us if what we have been steadily pursuing is still of value. During Leo Season, we can access stellar insights by dropping into the heart space and aligning with the integrity of our true Spirit, determining what we should cancel and what we should continue. The Leo New Moon on August 4th, when the Sun and the Moon become congruent at 12° of the fierce Fire sign, is an excellent time to initiate our newly aligned intentions. Primarily because the New Moon will be in a supportive sextile to Mars/Jupiter in Gemini. Mercury stations retrograde on August 5th, the day after the New Moon, for its third of four retrograde phases this year. Mercury in Virgo will be reviewing and revealing the necessary details needed to fuel the flame and then will move back into Leo on the 14th, reminding us of our ability to implement and execute a plan moving forward. This particular retrograde allows us to consider the sources of our creative Spark and course correct where necessary.

The energy of August culminates on the Full Moon at 27° Aquarius on the 19th. The moon will oppose our galaxy star at 27° Leo, with the Sun conjoined to Mercury retrograde at 26° (Cazimi exact on the 18th) in the fixed Fire sign. This superior lunation is almost exactly square to Uranus at 27° of Taurus, meaning our seeming security could be shaken; in a liberating way where needed. Uranus is preparing for its annual retrograde in the fixed sign of Taurus on September 1st, which begs to question the authenticity required to truly grow. Where are you ready to break free? The Sun leaves Leo and ingresses into the virtuous sign of Virgo on the 22nd. This elemental shift allows us to ground our inspiration into a material manifestation. Virgo is mutable which means movable, and with Mercury stationing Direct on the 29th along with Venus joining the Sun in the sign of Libra, we can begin to bring it all into balance. Heart-centered harmony will then become the potential energetic signature.
